• Redox signalling of gaseous molecules
Redox signalling mechanisms and antioxidant enzymes often operate
through thiol-switches which are generated as post-translational thiolmodifications in response to various redox active species to control many
cellular functions. Thiol-switches are modulated by local changes of the
redox environment and specific redox pathways in different organisms and
cellular compartments. During the last years, novel tools in redox biology
became available to follow the dynamics of local redox changes at high
spatio-temporal resolution providing an amazing knowledge into redox
processes. In this SPP1710 conference, we gather internationally leading
experts from different fields, but with a shared interest in redox biology, to
discuss the latest insights into the principals of cellular redox control.
